Proximiti Communications delves into niche market

TAMPA, FL (March 29, 2006) - Tampa-based Proximiti Communications today announced its new "Smart Building" technology. Its prototype building will be The VUE at Lake Eola, a 36-story condominium tower in downtown Orlando. Once completed in 2007, The VUE will be one of the most technologically advanced buildings in the Southeast.

"The VUE will have a direct 45Mbps Internet access pipeline dedicated solely to The VUE’s residents," said Gregg Smith, CEO of Proximiti. "This means more than 350 households will consistently have commercial grade high-speed Internet access."

Providing residential buildings with direct fiber optic access is gaining popularity mainly because customers will receive business-class, high-speed Internet access up to 30 times faster than traditional residential offerings. The VUE will be the first residential building in the Southeast being outfitted in this way.

"The new technology that will be housed in this building is incredible," said Djuan Rivers, future VUE resident. "I investigated many of the other projects going up in the area and this was a differentiator for me. I wanted to live in the most innovative building in town."

The VUE will be a completely digital building, including building-wide WiFi access, digital television and a digital telephone system.

"And for the occasional network hiccup, our residents will have a four-hour service guarantee," said Mike Murray, The VUE’s developer and principal of Churchill Development Group, LLC. "Other providers are not able to offer this or even next-day service in most cases."
